Hello Friend and welcome to the LSF Family!

Thank you so much for reaching out! We’d love to have you come to help! Our only mission is to love, serve and feed our community. We are a Christian organization, but we want anyone to feel welcome to join us for lunch or to serve. Once you come the first time, you’ll see we have a loving community and you’ll get a good idea of the way we do things every Saturday.

 

We meet from 11 am-1:30 pm (ish) every Saturday, outside Hernandez Middle School, 1901 Sunrise Road, Round Rock! Depending on the weather, we sometimes move our serving area around. Normally, we are located at the front of the school by the flag pole. However, sometimes if the wind is strong from the north, we will move to the front, opposite side of the building where the building will block us from the wind. Likewise, on rainy days, we usually pull our trainer around to the side of the school facing Tiger Trail, where there is a covered walkway. It just depends. Just look for the white trailer when you arrive. Dress according to the weather and bring something to drink!

 

You are more than welcome and invited to eat what we prepare, we just ask that you step away from the table to eat and put on fresh gloves when you return to serve. We set up, serve and clean up pretty efficiently from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and clean up takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes, so we tend to leave the area around 1:20-1:30 p.m.

 

It’s important to note that the school doesn’t allow us access to their restrooms. We usually go to the gas stations at Sunrise and Old Settlers. Also, if kids under age 14 are serving, then a parent, guardian or school sponsor needs to be present and serving alongside them. We are happy to sign service hours for anyone needing them. If you are bringing a group larger than 6, let us know the intended date and how many so we can let our main volunteers know and we can try to hold off any other larger groups from coming that week. However, we never really know who will be coming out to serve or to partake in the meal each week. People often just show up and we’re happy to find place for them to serve. You are always welcome to come out anytime without reservations.

 

We look forward to spending time and serving alongside you! We have plenty of board members, lead volunteers and regular volunteers to help show you around and answer questions.
